Associate
Kariel works as a project manager for a range of K-12, higher education and workforce development clients. She is passionate about promoting equitable education policy, teacher quality resources and curriculum across the nation.
Prior to joining Penn Hill Group, Kariel worked as an instructional aide in England Primary Schools. During this time, she worked with second-grade students to enhance their reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Similarly, Kariel served as a Jumpstart for Young Children AmeriCorp member throughout District of Columbia Public Schools.
Along with her classroom experience, Kariel has explored various educational pathways. As a Fellow for The NewDEAL, she regularly tracked education policy, and advanced congressional clients’ policy efforts. Kariel has also worked as a Content Intern, analyzing curriculum development for FishTank Learning. Most recently, she interned as a Research Assistant for New America where she compiled a national scan of pathways to becoming a first-time teacher.
Kariel graduated from Georgetown University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Government, with a minor in Education, Inquiry, and Justice. In her free time, Kariel enjoys pilates, traveling, and exploring the culture of DC.
