The U.S. Department of Education (ED) released guidance to States and school districts on the use of technology and artificial intelligence in classrooms.

ED approved the second Workforce Pell eligible program, which was for a Clinical Medical Assistant program at Ivy Tech Community College in the State of Indiana.

ED issued a proposed rule on higher education accreditation. ED will accept comments through September 21.

ED recalculated Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) credits for some borrowers after a review of student loan data.

ED issued guidance stating that schools should not consider disparate-impact when assessing potential Title VI liability for student discipline policies.

ED confirmed to Education Week that it will continue to distribute most K-12 formula funding through its own grant management system rather than shifting those responsibilities to the U.S. Department of Labor under the recent Interagency Agreements.

ED approved the States of Arizona, Nevada and South Carolina for Ed-Flex authority, bringing the total number of States with Ed-Flex authority to 25.

A coalition of labor unions and higher-education groups sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to challenge its recently promulgated rule limiting the length of time international students and journalists may stay in the United States.
