CONGRESS

Despite the U.S. House of Representatives Rules Committee approving a rule to consider a continuing resolution (CR) on the House floor, the full House did not vote on such a measure this week and has not scheduled such a vote for next week.

The House Committee on Education and the Workforce released a report titled “Freedom of Speech and Its Protection on College Campuses.”

ED sent a letter to 16 governors urging equitable funding of land-grant Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

ED issued new proposed priorities, requirements and definitions for its Title III National Professional Development Program and released a related blog post centered on bilingual teacher preparation.

ED announced that the Biden Administration will award $40 million to Hispanic-Serving Institutions through the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Grant and Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program.
