Penn Hill Group Principal Alex Nock Participates in Lumina Foundation’s Higher Education Event

The Lumina Foundation recently hosted “The Higher Education Act at 50: A Time for Reflection and Revitalization,” where Principal Alex Nock participated. With this being the 50th anniversary of the Higher Education Act’s (HEA’s) initial passage, Lumina convened this event in part to consider how higher education can be more student-centric.

Nock discussed the history of the Higher Education Act (HEA), as well as current policies likely to impact HEA, with former Representative Buck McKeon (R-CA) and former U.S. Department of Education and Congressional staffer Sally Stroup. Nock and fellow panelists highlighted accomplishments made in past HEA reauthorizations, the need for more bipartisanship when it comes to reauthorizing HEA and how the global educational system has evolved.
