CONGRESS

The roster of U.S. House of Representatives Republicans that will serve on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce Committee was released.

The roster of U.S. House of Representatives Democrats that will serve on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce Committee was released.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released a list of Senate Democrats’ committee assignments for the 118^th Congress.

ADMINISTRATION

President Biden sent the following nominations to the Senate: Danté Quintin Allen to be Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Department of Education; LaWanda Amaker Toney, to be Assistant Secretary for Communications and Outreach, Department of Education; and Glenna Laureen Wright-Gallo, to be Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education.

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona delivered a speech titled “Raise the Bar: Lead the World.” A transcript of the speech is available here and the speech’s accompanying press release can be found here.

The U.S. Department of Education noticed the next meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI). The meeting will be held February 28-March 2, 2023.
