Penn Hill Group is pleased to announce the addition of Elyse Wasch as Vice President. Wasch
joins Penn Hill Group from Capitol Hill, where she most recently served as Legislative Director
and Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) for nearly 17 years.

During her more than 27-year career on Capitol Hill, Wasch was a member of Senator Reed’s
staff during his entire time in the Senate, first working as his education policy advisor before
becoming Legislative Director. She collaborated on a bipartisan basis to pass legislation
addressing issues such as COVID-19 relief, education, libraries, health care, unemployment,
housing, defense and immigration. As Vice President of Penn Hill Group, Wasch will use her
extensive Capitol Hill knowledge and experience to strengthen Penn Hill Group’s policy

Group team as a Senior Advisor and also serves as President of Knowledge Alliance. She
provides invaluable expertise following her work as a Principal Researcher at the American
Institutes for Research, where she supported research projects for the U.S. Department of
Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Additionally, she served as a
United States delegate to three Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development
(OECD) education groups and represented the United States at over 40 international meetings.
