ADMINISTRATION

The U.S. Department of Education issued a press release on the approval of all 52 State Education Agency plans for the use of American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) funds.

ED released guidance for institutions of higher education (IHEs) on using Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) to help students meet basic needs and issued a press release on additional resources to help students meet those needs.

ED concluded its first of three negotiated rulemaking sessions on “Institutional and Programmatic Eligibility.”

ED released a fact sheet on the Biden Administration’s efforts to safely reopen schools and support the needs of K-12 and post-secondary students.

The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced that it will begin to monitor IHEs that provide private loans directly to students.
