Penn Hill Group Senior Advisor Tom Corwin was quoted in a February 1 BuzzFeed article, “There’s Never Been Such A Difficult Confirmation For An Education Secretary.” Corwin commented on Betsy DeVos’ nomination process:

“I don’t remember anything like this,” said Tom Corwin, who worked in the U.S. Department of Education for 25 years. “There have been 10 previous education secretaries, and they’ve all had bipartisan support. I don’t ever remember this kind of opposition springing up across the country.”
