ADMINISTRATION

The President signed an executive order directing the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to simplify the process for permanently disabled veterans to receive student loan forgiveness.

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) published new data on the borrowing rates for undergraduate program completers over a twenty year period, disaggregated by age.

NCES published its report mapping State proficiency standards compared to the 2017 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).

ED released a form allowing individuals undergoing cancer treatment to request deferment of their Federal student loan payments.

NCES published results from the 2017-18 National Teacher and Principal Survey.
