HOUSE and SENATE

The House and Senate will be in recess until the week of November 14.

House Education and the Workforce Committee Ranking Member Bobby Scott (D-VA) issued a statement applauding the 2014-2015 school year high school graduation rate of 83.2 percent.

Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) released a statement highlighting support for his legislation to extend the timeline for implementation of the overtime rule.

ADMINISTRATION

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) released non-regulatory guidance on supporting early learning through the reauthorized Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).

ED released non-regulatory guidance on the ESEA, Title IV, Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants program.

The White House released a Fact Sheet on the 2014-2015 school year high school graduation rate. The rate was 83.2 percent, the highest recorded rate.

The White House released a Fact Sheet on the first meeting of the North American Working Group on Violence against Indigenous Women and Girls, which included discussions on the Administration’s progress on and new commitments to the Working Group’s goals.
