ADMINISTRATION

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon sent a letter to Congress, affirming that the U.S. Department of Education remains on track to release the 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by October 1.

The Office of Management and Budget announced a cancellation of foreign aid funding, which they are citing as a “pocket rescission.”

The U.S. Department of Labor issued guidance to states on how to use Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding for artificial intelligence literacy and training.

COURTS

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) wrote Congress, saying that it will not defend the Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) program in the recent court filing from the State of Tennessee and Students for Fair Admissions against the U.S. Department of Education.
