CONGRESS
The House is expected to vote on H.R. 6655, A Stronger Workforce for America Act, on Tuesday, April 9th under suspension of the rules.
ADMINISTRATION
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) shared updates about inconsistent tax data in the Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) for 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applications.
ED provided updates on its plans to reprocess ISIRs affected by tax data errors. Additionally, ED discussed its response to issues concerning FAFSA form access for students with contributors lacking a Social Security number.
ED published a blog post showcasing the impacts of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) on postsecondary success.
In partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), ED introduced new initiatives focused on increasing high-quality and affordable pathways into teaching, bolstering compensation and improving working conditions across the early childhood, K-12 and higher education workforce.
