CONGRESS

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced that the Senate would be in session starting tomorrow (Saturday) to begin consideration of the Democrat’s budget reconciliation bill, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

Representative Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who served on the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee and the House Ethics Committee, passed away.

The U.S. Senate confirmed, by voice vote, Nasser Paydar to be Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education.

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona released a statement on the National Center for Education Statistics’ (NCES) June 2022 data.

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) will hear oral arguments for Students for Fair Admissions’ affirmative action challenges against Harvard University and the University of North Carolina on October 31, 2022.
