CONGRESS

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Reauthorization Act of 2022 by a vote of 220-196.

ADMINISTRATION

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) issued guidance to help institutions of higher education (IHEs) with the provision of mental health supports for students, faculty and staff.

ED announced that it will hold a virtual summit on how schools, colleges and communities can “support students with disabilities and students with mental health needs.” You can register for the summit here.

ED announced the continuation of its current waiver that waives student financial aid verification procedures for the 2022-2023 award year.

ED’s office of Federal Student Aid announced the “Unified Servicing and Data Solution” solicitation, the next planned iteration of student loan servicing contracts that ED plans to award later this year.
